Inventory Item
An inventory item is a physical item in the inventory of a location (section), such as a computer, POS-terminal, printer, network device, etc.
Each inventory item represents a single item at a location (section). Each inventory item follows an inventory item definition.
Inventory Item Definition
An inventory item definition describes the characteristics that are to be captured for a certain kind of inventory item. There might be a definition for a computer, and another for a POS-terminal, etc.
Each inventory item definition is assigned to an inventory category.
Each inventory item definition has any number of fields defined.
An inventory item definition must always have a unique name.
Inventory Category
An inventory category is a container for different kinds of inventory items (and their definitions) that somehow belong together. There might be a category for computer equipment, and another for networking equipment.
An inventory category must always have a unique name.
